A Greater London NHS Trust invites international doctors to apply for a Consultant Haematologist post. The successful candidate will have an interest in haemato-oncology.
The department is warm, friendly, open and supportive and has a professional and friendly working relationship with clinicians.
The Department provides a clinical and laboratory service, managing a full range of haematological conditions to BCSH level 2a. Salvage therapy and high dose therapy cases are referred to Royal Victoria Hospital Blackpool and Central Manchester Haematology centres. Clinical haematology in-patient beds are ring fenced, with junior doctor cover provided by the medical team. The modern Blood Sciences laboratory is accredited to UKAS ISO15189.
The post holder should have a broad training in clinical and laboratory haematology and must have made steps towards their GMC Registration.
Given the rising number of haematology cancers an interest in haemato-oncology would be welcomed. Development of areas of specialised expertise is encouraged and would be planned during annual team job planning round.
The successful applicant will be expected to work with management and clinical colleagues to further develop the haematology service and achieve the Trust’s key objectives.
