The successful post holder will join an innovative team of Consultant Medical Oncologists, to deliver an Oncology service in one of the largest Trusts in the UK that provides expert treatment to patients across the South East.
The Post:
- Being in the South East of England this hospital benefits from being a close comute to London whilst also being close to the beautiful coastline.
- The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop specific areas of interest, working alongside the current Oncology team. Duties:
- The appointee will be required to participate in the speciality education of undergraduates and postgraduates and allied health professionals. We are currently welcoming applications for a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at a renowned Teaching Hospital that is perfectly located within some of Britain’s most vibrant and attractive settings, with a great many places of natural beauty and historic interest. The expanding Trust in the North East of England are keen to continue to build on their excellent reputation in training, research and the development of advanced radiotherapy techniques. With this in mind, they would particularly welcome applications from those with an interest in education, clinical trials or radiation technology.
The post:
- It is anticipated that the post of Consultant Clinical Oncologist will specifically be responsible for caring for patients with breast cancer.
- The radiotherapy department has an integrated equipment profile for external beam radiotherapy. The service is a Varian site with ARIA Eclipse treatment planning system. The two wide bore Siemens CT scanners transfer the localisation plans to Eclipse in preparation for volumes and contouring.
- A second site of specialisation is encouraged in which case the job plan would be amended to reflect two sites of specialisation rather than one to suit individual preferences. The ambitious expansion plans mean that those who would prefer to specialise in cancer sites other than breast cancer are welcome to apply and discuss their preference with the clinical lead.
- Any additional programmed activities above 10PAs will be agreed during the job planning process with the clinical lead and clinical director.
