Duties of the post:

• The department has a high number of undergraduate and post graduate colleagues and the post holder will be expected to contribute to undergraduate education. Individual preferences can be discussed.

The Post:

• This is an excellent opportunity to join a first-class team in an active and progressive teaching hospital environment. This post will play a key role in meeting the increasing demand of clinical services.
• The post-holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director for Genetics, Rheumatology, Infection, Dermatology, and Allergy (Specialist Ambulatory Service) and responsible to the Team Lead for the dermatopathology service.

Duties of post:

• To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
• To assist with the educational supervision of trainees and fellows attending the department.
• To take an active part in postgraduate teaching and training.
• To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.
• The post holder must be medically qualified and maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a licence to practice.
• To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
• To ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care Programmed Activities.
• To ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care and to respond to their views.
• To review clinical outcomes in designated area using external benchmarking data where appropriate, to identify and advise variances to the Clinical Director.
• Participate in clinical audit, incident reporting and analysis and to ensure resulting actions are implemented.

Additional support: 

• The Clinical Director should identify and quantify SPA activity that is proportionate to the size of the department and its objectives. A full-time consultant will have a maximum allocation of 1 PA to cover such responsibilities including CPD, audit, job planning, revalidation and appraisal.

Team BDI Resourcing are very keen to talk to an IMG looking to work as a Trust Middle Grade Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonates Doctor in a 12 month fixed term post at a University Hospital in the North West of England.

Duties of the post: 

• Day to day care of patients on the Children’s Unit and Neonatal Unit as well as covering the Central Delivery Suite and post-natal Ward.
• Maintenance of patient’s records and generation of timely Discharge Summaries.
• Participation in Consultant-led ward rounds undertaken by the Paediatric Team.
• Conducting clinics under Consultant supervision.
• Emergency care of patients in the paediatric assessment unit and the emergency department.

Role:

• The consultant will be expected to lead a multidisciplinary critical care team to a deliver an excellent clinical service.
• The consultant is expected to uphold and demonstrate good medical practice to GMC standards, including individual responsibility for clinical practice and team leadership, and respect for others.
• On call is for dedicated 24/7 ICU cover totalling eight weeks per annum. Weeks are worked in full or by local agreement can be split.
• Indicative sessions for non-ICU weeks are shown in five jobplans below.
• The postholder will be encouraged and supported to develop clinical, teaching and leadership interests.
• Take responsibility in at one least one non-Direct Clinical Care activity provided by Critical Care.
• For all ICM consultants to promote development of the unit and the speciality within the Trust, through their personal clinical practice, interaction with other teams, service development, and through representation at clinical and management meetings.
• To participate in regular departmental, academic, audit and managerial meetings.

Role:

• It is envisaged that the post holder will carry out their duties as a full time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine.
• The demands of the anaesthetic department mean that close and ongoing collaboration with consultant colleagues is required.
• There is likely to be flexibility of sessions given, although there may be a need to organise this around service development and reconfiguration. 
• Job plans will be reviewed annually in line with appraisals.

Role:

• The department is seeking to appoint a Senior Registrar in Histopathology for 10 programmed activities per week including undertaking histopathology and cytopathology reporting and specimen cut-up.
• The candidate will join the existing team of 18 Consultant Pathologists and 4 Pathology Specialty Doctors, and will support in providing a diagnostic reporting service to the pathology network

• The appointment is for a Full time Consultant Urological Surgeon on 10PAs working across our two base sites of RBTH and BGTH.  It is intended that the successful candidate will have an interest and experience in Endourology.
• The Job plan is an 11 week job plan which is 10PAs annualised.  This 11 week job plan has been agreed with all consultants in the department to support the introduction of the Consultant of the Week and expansion of weekend working. The overnight and weekend on call is 1:11, with full middle grade and junior support.
• New Consultant appointments will be provided support and mentorship by senior colleagues in accordance with the Trust mentorship programme.  The appropriate level of support will also be provided for weekend working
