As an Acute Medicine Consultant your duties will include:
Main Duties:
- You will be expected to work with managers and other professional colleagues to make sure services are running efficiently
- Have a high interest in teaching, audits and research
- Participate in projects an courses.
- Work on the AMU, SDEC and Short stay wards.
- Complete ward rounds and advise juniors when needed.
- A specialty interest alongside Acute Medicine is encouraged
- Give over the phone advice to both junior doctors and patients
- You will have 10 PA’s, 1.5 is used for supporting professional activities.
- You will be expected to take an active role in the development of resource management and assist in the preparation of business plans.

This Hospital Is well known for its high standards of medical care for patients. They highly encourage doctors to participate in audits and are very big on research. The team provide on going training programmes and development to ensure the staff are up to date with new best practices.
Being a medium sized 500 bedded hospital in the South West is the best place to work for a balanced life style. You will join on the of the NHS’s supportive teams who are very understanding when it comes to home life. The rota’s are very flexible and can be made up a couple of weeks before hand! Giving you time to spend by yourself or with your family.

The location of this hospital is in a beautiful, picturesque City in the South West of England. It is known for it architecture and historical landmarks. The City hosts big events like music and literature festivals, it also has big theatres – perfect for a day out.
Here you will live a bright life with excellent schools, variety of shops, restaurants and local café’s. it has incredible transportation, it is only a 10 minute train journey to Bristol City Centre, 1.5 hours to London and 3 hours to Manchester.
If you have loved ones living overseas, the nearest international airport is Heathrow which is only a short 1 hour and 50 minute journey on the train.
Requirements:
To apply for this position, you will need the following:
- GMC registration complete or in process
- Full MRCP (UK)
- 2 years of UK experience working as a Consultant
- Experience working in SDEC and Acute Medicine
The below is preferable but not essential:
- Specialist registration
- SCE Acute Medicine
