We are working with a leading healthcare provider in the Central Region to appoint an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Anesthesiologist. This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed consultant to join a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and well-established healthcare environment.

Role and Responsibilities
As a Consultant Anesthesiologist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care across all stages of the anesthetic process. From pre-operative consultations and patient assessments to intra-operative monitoring and post-operative recovery, your role will be central to ensuring safe, high-quality anesthesia services.
You will manage your own clinics as per a structured rota and will admit patients as appropriate within your defined scope of practice. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing appropriate medications and treatments, and monitoring patient progress to make informed decisions on re-evaluation and discharge planning.
Other responsibilities include:
- Leading the anesthesia team in surgical procedures
- Supervising junior medical staff and reviewing clinical documentation
- Performing procedures and interventions within your credentialed privileges
- Preparing comprehensive discharge plans and follow-up care instructions
- Participating in emergency response including Code Blue events
- Upholding high standards of clinical documentation and patient confidentiality
- Ensuring all informed consent processes are followed rigorously
- Contributing to the clinical governance of the department through committee participation, audits, and policy development
- Supporting the training and development of residents, interns, and fellows
- Actively promoting patient education and community health awareness
You will be expected to demonstrate leadership, take on-call duties as required, and contribute to the department’s continuous quality improvement initiatives.

This opportunity will be based in Jeddah or Riyadh, the Medical Group has a range of private hospitals across the two cities and further afield. The location of the role will be confirmed post-successful interview.

The Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- Medical degree from a recognised institution
- Completion of an appropriate internship and residency program in Anesthesia
- GMC Specialist Registered (CCT or CESR)
- Postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology (e.g. Board Certification, Fellowship, or equivalent)
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a Consultant in a tertiary care hospital after obtaining your higher qualification
- Subspecialty qualification or structured fellowship training is preferred
- Valid license to practice from your country of origin and eligibility for licensing with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to continuous education, strong leadership qualities, and a patient-centered approach to care. You should be comfortable supervising junior staff, participating in academic activities, and engaging in policy and procedural development within the department.
