We are working with an excellent NHS Trust seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly skilled Consultant Haematologist to join their team. Role and Responsibilities
You would be joining a well-established team to consolidate a sustainable consultant-delivered service, that offers the benefit of virtual working one day per week. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical leadership and oversight for haematology services, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and laboratory services
- Managing a broad range of haematological conditions, including malignant and non-malignant disorders, and overseeing treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- Contributing to the delivery of the on-call rota, providing expert advice and support to colleagues within and outside the department
- Leading and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, ensuring collaborative decision-making for patient care
- Developing specialist interests and services within haematology, with opportunities to contribute to clinical research and teaching
- Supporting junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals, fostering their development through mentorship and supervision
This full-time role typically involves participation in a 1:5 on-call rota, ensuring a good work-life balance while maintaining high standards of patient care.

The Requirements
Essential criteria:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Entry onto the Specialist Register or eligibility within six months of interview
- Substantial experience in haematology, including management of malignant and non-malignant conditions
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria:
- Interest or expertise in a specific haematological subspecialty
- Experience in teaching, research, or quality improvement initiatives
