This Trust in East Anglia is seeking a Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join their close-knit team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing excellent patient care and would like the opportunity to contribute to medical student teaching.
Role and Responsibilities
- On call duties
- Inpatient care, including conducting ward rounds and offering specialist advice to other
- MDT meetings attendance
- Performing advanced diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, and sleep studies.
- Collaborating closely with other medical specialties to manage complex respiratory cases and contribute to multidisciplinary care plans.
- Supporting and supervising junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in the department, providing guidance and ensuring high standards of clinical care.
- Implementing the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme, participating in clinical audits and quality improvement projects, helping to develop and refine care protocols, guidelines, and pathways for respiratory services.

The Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Accreditation in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine
- Training and experience CCT in respiratory and general internal medicine
- Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Bronchoscopy experience
- Experience equivalent to 5 years training within NHS
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in research or published papers in area of special interest
- MD / PHD
