We are working with a leading NHS Trust in the West Midlands, looking for a Locum Consultant Clinical / Medical Oncologist with a specialist interest in Breast Cancer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced oncologist to join a forward-thinking department that provides high-quality cancer care within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Core duties include:
- Providing outpatient clinics and systemic therapy sessions for breast cancer patients
- Participating in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to develop and manage treatment plans.
- Supporting service development and contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit activities
- Supervising junior doctors, specialty trainees, and medical students as part of clinical teaching
- Contributing to research and clinical trials where appropriate
- Working collaboratively with the wider oncology and breast care teams to ensure integrated patient care
The post offers 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week and participation in departmental meetings and educational activities. However, the department is happy to consider a 12 PA job plan, covering 10 PA's of Breast, on-call, SPA abd 1 clinic in another modality.

The Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- CCT in Clinical or Medical Oncology (or within 6 months of obtaining)
- Experience in managing breast cancer patients using systemic therapies
- Participation in MDTs and collaborative treatment planning
- Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working in the NHS
- Involvement in research or teaching
- Evidence of clinical audit or quality improvement projects
- Although the job plan is predominantly in Breast, CVs are welcomed from doctors who specialise in Breast and have an interest in other modalities
