We are working with a brilliant NHS Trust in the North Midlands to offer a Locum Consultant post in Anaesthesia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced anaesthetist to work in a hospital that is expanding its services and offering the chance to shape the future of anaesthetic care in a growing department.
Role and Responsibilities
You will primarily undertake clinical anaesthetic duties in the theatre suite, covering a range of specialties.
As part of the role, you will:
- Provide anaesthesia support across a range of clinical settings, including theatres, obstetrics, and intensive care units (ITU)
- Supervise junior medical staff and take part in departmental, academic, and audit meetings
- Engage in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities as required by the Royal College of Anaesthetists
- Participate in a 1 in 6 on-call rota covering theatres, obstetrics, and ITU services

The Requirements
Essential:
- Full GMC registration and license to practice
- Experience in general anaesthesia and critical care
- Ability to manage anaesthesia in a variety of specialities
- Commitment to teaching and education in clinical settings
Desirable:
- Higher training or equivalent experience in ITU or obstetric anaesthesia
- ALS/ATLS/APLS Provider or Instructor
- Experience in medical education and peer-reviewed publications
