The Job

BDI Resourcing are working with an exceptional Hospital that is seeking Emergency Medicine Registrars for 12-month fixed-term opportunities commencing in 2025, with the possibility of extension.
As an ED Registrar, you will experience a broad range of acute medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology, and mental health cases in a dynamic regional setting. This role provides exceptional exposure to hands-on emergency medicine, with more procedural opportunities than many metropolitan hospitals.
The Health Campus is the largest hospital in regional Western Australia, with 171 beds and a fully equipped Emergency Department (ED) featuring 39 beds, an ED Ambulatory Care Unit, and a Short Stay Unit. With over 45,000 annual presentations, including high-acuity cases and paediatric patients, you will gain invaluable experience in managing a wide spectrum of emergency scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population.
- Perform procedures under the supervision of Specialist Emergency Physicians.
- Work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team alongside consultants, senior medical practitioners, residents, and interns.
- Participate in critical care rotations, including anaesthetics and foundation intensive care.
- Engage in medical transfers via the Rescue Helicopter when required.
- Take part in structured education programs, simulation training, and exam preparation sessions.
- Support junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and mentorship programs.
Training & Development Opportunities
The Hospital offers outstanding Emergency Medicine training, including:
24 months of ACEM training ED time (accredited for 10 trainees).
Accredited ACEM Primary and Fellowship Exam preparation programs.
Rotations in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care (ICU).
Access to ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma.
Rural Generalist Training (RACGP & ACRRM-accredited) for core and advanced training.
Protected teaching time and access to simulation training, including Code Blue simulations.

The Health Campus serves as the regional referral centre for the South West region of WA. It is a fully equipped regional hospital with a wide range of specialties, including:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) & Coronary Care Unit (CCU/Cath Lab).
- Surgical, medical, obstetric, paediatric, and mental health services.
- A fully accredited Emergency Department (ED) with a diverse case mix and procedural focus.
The ED team consists of Specialist Emergency Physicians, Senior Medical Practitioners, Registrars, Residents, and Interns, offering a well-supported learning environment with an emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and professional development.

Requirements:
To apply for this role, you must have:
Minimum six months of Critical Care Medicine experience (Emergency, Acute Medicine, ICU, or Anaesthetics).
Eligibility for General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
