Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics and Neonatology

BDI Resourcing are working with a fantastic Paediatric department in Northwest England to find a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics with level 2 Neonatology. The Hospital itself is medium sized, with over 400 beds. The Paediatric department is very busy, receiving around 2500 acute medical Paediatric admissions per year, and a similar number of surgical admissions.

Main Duties: 

  • Ward rounds in the Paediatric and Neonatal Units
  • Seeing children in the Paediatric emergency centre
  • Attending emergencies in Paediatrics and Neonates, including labour ward
  • Consultant supervised Child Protection Assessments
  • Work alongside Paediatric middle grade trainees
  • Supporting and guiding junior doctors
  • Active participation in both formal and informal, weekly teaching

The Hospital:

The hospital has almost 500 beds. In-patient facilities cater for general medicine, paediatrics, surgery, ENT, urology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and oral surgery. They provide services for almost 100,000 patients per year.

They have a history of innovation and patient care, having won awards from the Health Service Journal in the past.

The hospital boasts state of the art facilities, meaning they’re able to offer fantastic opportunities for high quality training, development, and overall care.

The location:

You would be very close to some of the most major cities in the UK, such as Manchester and Liverpool, while also being close to the stunning countryside the area has to offer, providing a great mix of city living and tranquil setting.

Being close to these cities means that opportunity to travel is excellent, being close to major transport hubs for the UK, as well as international airports to travel abroad to visit family and friends.

Being in the North of England would also provide a far lower cost of living to the rest of the UK, including low rent costs.

Requirements:

To apply for this position, you will need the following:

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • MRCPCH
  • PALS
  • NLS
  • Safeguarding of Children qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience as SHO or higher in Paediatrics
  • Experience must include General Paediatrics and Neonates
  • Audit/Research experience
