This is a highly sought after position in the North East of England. The Trust are looking for a Registrar in General Paediatrics who are keen to learn all that is offered from the dedicated team of consultants and senior staff. 

The Hospital offer an excellent development program for internationally trained doctors and provide support through CESR.

This post is suited for Paediatricians who have MRCPCH and GMC registration. 

Main Duties: 

 Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Deliver high quality care to patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Provide leadership and support to medical students and junior doctors.
  • Attend ward rounds and out-patient clinics.
  • Be responsible for appropriate discharge summaries.
  • Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements within the parameters of the Trusts plans.
  • Fulfill the duty of the weekly timetable including any out-of-hours responsibilities.
  • Complete additional duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Liaise about patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work a full on-call rota of days, nights, and some weekends.

The Hospital:

The hospital has 700 beds including 25 in-patient beds on the Children’s ward. The hospital serves a large child population and see a diverse range of cases and different presentations of disease. The hospital has over 6,500 members of care staff and support a population of more than 400,000 people. They encourage their staff to adopt ‘best practice’ so they can deliver excellent care to our patients. They like to continuously maximise the potential of their workforce.

The hospital is based in a city in the North East of England perfect for doctors who are wanting to be close to major cities but also enjoy spending their time in the country side. The city benefits from reliable transport links and has a train station which connects locals to other major cities. There are many amenities such as shopping centers, restaurants, and recreational facilities. This city is next door to a seaside town which means that residents can enjoy the beaches, amusement parks and waterfront activities.

The city has multiple mosques and churches within walking distance from the town center and outskirts of city. The area has a close-knit supportive feel and residents frequently organise community events and initiatives. The area has a rich cultural scene with easy access to a diverse and international community with many events, museums, and theatres. 

Requirements:

  • Full MRCPCH (essential)
  • GMC Registration
  • Senior or Registrar experience overseas
  • APLS Desirable
