This is a new post that sits between Specialty Doctor grade and Consultant grade. It was created to give doctors an opportunity to focus on providing direct patient care at a consultant level but less on the other clinical and non-clinical responsibilities required of a Consultant.
A job plan will be agreed with the Assistant Clinical Director but a brief description of your duties are:
Main Duties:
- Responsible for the care and treatment of patients
- Take part in the on call rota which is 1 in 6
- Active participation in post-graduation and undergraduate education by giving teaching sessions for foundation year, registrars, and medical students.
- Commitment to taking part in annual appraisals
- Responsible for personal development and keep up to date with evidence base practice.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement.
- In patient management in Ambulatory Care Unit and Acute Medicine.
- Making senior decisions in the department

Requirements:

- GMC registration complete or in process
- Full MRCP
- OET or IELTS
- Evidence of previous management/leadership responsibilities
