The Job
Are you an experienced Specialist Anaesthetist looking for an exciting opportunity in a leading regional hospital? BDI Resourcing are seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join a dynamic Anaesthetics Department in Victoria.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern 280-bed hospital providing anaesthetic services across a variety of specialties, including:
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedics
- ENT
- Dental
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Paediatrics
- Urology
- Gastroenterology
- Psychiatry
As a Specialist Anaesthetist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care, supporting a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to education, training, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties.
- Manage pre-anaesthesia assessment, intraoperative anaesthesia, and post-operative pain management.
- Support emergency and trauma resuscitation within the hospital.
- Participate in the on-call roster for emergency and elective cases.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, intensivists, and nursing staff.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and anaesthetic trainees.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Engage in medical education and research, including teaching medical students and junior doctors.

Requirements
To apply for this role, you must have:
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Current registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA as a Specialist Anaesthetist.
Experience in a broad range of anaesthetic procedures, including perioperative and pain management.
A commitment to teaching, training, and clinical leadership.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to work within a multidisciplinary environment.
