The Job

Are you a skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist seeking an opportunity to work in a regional hospital with a supportive team? BDI Resourcing are looking for a dedicated Anaesthetist to provide high-quality anaesthetic services in South Australia’s second-largest city.

As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, patient-focused care, while also mentoring junior medical officers, contributing to research, and driving quality improvements in the hospital’s Anaesthetic Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist anaesthetic services for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Deliver perioperative and pain management care to patients.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and trainees within the department.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and hospital committees.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management.
• Engage in teaching, training, and research to enhance medical education.
• Provide after-hours emergency anaesthetic services, participating in the on-call roster.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and documentation.

Requirements:

To apply for this role, you must have:

• Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in providing anaesthetic care, including pain management.
• Strong clinical leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills.
• A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and professional development.
