As a key member of the Paediatric Department, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive paediatric services, supervising junior medical staff, and ensuring best-practice clinical care for children and families in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Functions
- Provide specialist paediatric services, including:
✅ Inpatient and outpatient paediatrics
✅ Neonatal care
✅ Emergency paediatric care - Offer clinical leadership and supervision for junior doctors and trainees.
- Ensure timely documentation and communication with referring clinicians.
- Participate in the on-call paediatric roster.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, allied health professionals, and community services.
Education & Training
- Supervise and mentor medical students, RMOs, and paediatric trainees.
- Provide clinical teaching and professional development for healthcare staff.
- Engage in research activities and continuous medical education.
Quality & Safety
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with SA Health policies and patient safety standards.
- Contribute to paediatric audits and morbidity & mortality reviews.

Requirements:
To apply for this role, you must have:
✔ Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
✔ Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Paediatrics or equivalent.
✔ Specialist Registration or eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
✔ Strong clinical experience in general paediatrics and neonatology.
✔ Excellent leadership, teaching, and communication skills.
✔ Commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement, and medical education.
Desirable Criteria:
➕ Experience in rural and regional paediatrics.
➕ Interest in research, teaching, and clinical governance.
➕ Experience working with Indigenous and culturally diverse populations.
