Are you ready to make a significant impact in the field of oncology? We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Registrar in Oncology within a London NHS Trust. This role offers a chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can make a real difference in patients' lives.
The Job
It’s a 10PA job plan (40 hours per week) with no on-call commitments. You’ll specialize in the management of patients undergoing chemotherapy day treatment, acute oncology, and outpatient clinics. You'll play a key role in supporting palliative chemotherapy, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. The right person will work across multiple tumour sites, including Breast, Lung and Colorectal, complete chemotherapy prescribing SOPs with sign off for independent prescribing, while working alongside your team of Consultants, SHO’s and Nurses.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the dynamic clinical teams at the Cancer Centre, participating actively in the governance and audit of clinical services. This role offers abundant opportunities for further training and career development tailored to your professional interests. You will also play a crucial role in managing patients enrolled in NCRI and other late-phase clinical trials. Experience with clinical trials is highly desirable, as it will enable you to contribute effectively to these cutting-edge research initiatives.

The newly refurbished Chemotherapy Day Unit is a beacon of hope and healing for patients aged 19 and up with a cancer diagnosis. Featuring 13 state-of-the-art treatment spaces, the unit offers a comprehensive range of chemotherapy and supportive treatments in a warm and welcoming environment. They provide exceptional outpatient care for haematology and oncology patients, with seamless collaboration with the Haematology Service to enhance patient pathways and experiences. For those needing inpatient haemato-oncology treatments, their dedicated haematology ward ensures continuity and excellence in care. Research and Development
The post holder will work closely with the Trust's research and development team to expand the Oncology trials portfolio and help establish new on-site clinical trial facilities. This initiative supports the goal of equitable access to cutting-edge cancer research and treatments. The Trust is actively expanding its clinical research capacity, working with partners like NPMIR, Parexel, and Imperial Innovations Ltd., and conducting studies in areas such as Cancer, Cardiology, and Dementia. With strong collaboration with the Pharmacy Department and a commitment to impactful research, the Trust offers a dynamic environment for advancing clinical trials and improving patient care.

Requirements
- GMC Registration with License to Practice
- General training in Oncology at Specialist Registrar grade with additional experience in Acute Oncology and Palliative Care
- MRCP or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- Ability to make decisions at non-consultant level
- Able to prescribe chemotherapy
