Job Title: Specialty Doctor – Emergency Medicine

Salary Range: £59,175 - £95,400

Location: East of England

Duration: Full-time, permanent

The hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine to join our motivated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy and expanding Emergency Department, with access to excellent training, CESR support, and professional development opportunities.

Main Duties:

  • Work across Resus, Majors, Minors, and Paediatric areas within the Emergency Department.
  • Provide care for a broad range of emergency patients, including trauma, paediatric, and elderly cases.
  • Join a supportive team consisting of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Specialist Registrars, Junior Doctors, and Advanced Care Practitioners.
  • Participate in a tiered on-call rota with a mix of early, late, and night shifts.
  • Non-clinical opportunities available, including ultrasound training, simulation, leadership, quality improvement, and teaching.

The Hospital:

  • 518 beds with 18 wards, covering a large population across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire.
  • Specialties include acute medicine, obstetrics, trauma, surgery, paediatrics, and community-based services.
  • Active involvement in research, clinical studies, and medical education, with links to Cambridge and East Anglia Medical Schools.

The Location:

  • A historic market town with a population of 60,000 and a surrounding district of 300,000.
  • Excellent transport links – direct trains to London & Cambridge, easy access to Norwich & Peterborough.
  • Affordable cost of living compared to larger cities, with great countryside and coastal scenery.
  • Family-friendly with good schools, cultural activities, and a University of East Anglia campus.

Requirements:

To apply for this role, you must have:
 ✔ 6 months NHS experience
 ✔ Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
 ✔ MRCEM or equivalent
 ✔ Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
