Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine

This Trust’s Emergency Department are seeking senior doctors to join their wonderful team in the North of England. This post is a great fit for a doctor who wishes to receive quality training from a highly experienced Emergency Medicine team. 

The Job

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting our Middle Grade Rota, delivering emergency care to patients with the guidance of the hospital’s Consultants. Your focus will be providing high-quality clinical care on the department floor, working a full shift system to ensure 24/7 coverage. Beyond patient care, you'll also contribute to the smooth running of the department by offering administrative, supervisory, educational and training support. This includes participating in teaching initiatives, medical audits, and designated management tasks agreed upon with your Clinical Supervisor.

The successful candidate would be given a clear rota plan where they will have allocated time to contribute towards their professional development. They would also be expected to be involved in audit and clinical governance within the Emergency Department. The position operates on a full shift system, ensuring 24/7 department coverage. You'll be expected to work a set schedule of 10 programmed activities.

The Trust

This exciting role is within a forward-thinking Integrated Care Trust, playing a key role in improving health outcomes for the local population. The hospital collaborate extensively with healthcare partners to address a wide range of health needs and social determinants. Our Emergency Department operates 24/7, serving nearly 95,000 patients annually, including paediatrics. It's a vibrant hub within a larger Urgent Care network, with dedicated units for acute care, assessment, and same-day emergencies. You'll work directly with a team of experienced consultants who provide exceptional shop floor supervision.

The Requirements

• Relevant primary medical qualification (MBBS) or Equivalent 
• MRCEM or Equivalent
• Full GMC registration
• Emergency Medicine experience
• Clinical management experience
• Experience of teaching/mentoring for different groups
• Evidence of active participation in audit
• At least one of ATLS, ALS or APLS qualifications
