The successful candidates will join as Specialty Doctors in Emergency Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHS Foundation Trust within 30mins of Central Manchester. 

The Job

We are seeking a Specialty Registrar (SPR) to collaborate with ED Consultants, Junior Clinical Fellows, and Nurses in managing a diverse range of acute adult and paediatric emergencies in our department. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of post-graduate experience, including a minimum of 1 year in Emergency Medicine. The role also involves providing teaching and training to medical students and doctors on clinical attachments. You will also receive dedicated time for educational and non-clinical development activities.

The A&E department features 5 resuscitation bays, 17 assessment bays/rooms, 3 rapid assessment bays, a dedicated mental health room, and a same-day care facility. It provides integrated urgent care services with dedicated ENP, ANP, and primary care support.

The post will involve:

  • The ED provides a regular training program to help each doctor acquire essential knowledge and skills in emergency medicine. This includes lecture-based teaching, clinical supervision, attendance at relevant clinics and courses, and full-immersion simulation sessions.
  • Study leave can typically be arranged for educational activities related to emergency medicine with sufficient notice. This includes life-support courses, other emergency medicine courses, and exam preparation.
  • Regular appraisals and mentoring will be provided by a dedicated and motivated Emergency Medicine Consultant.
  • The post holder is expected to dedicate time and effort to acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills for working in the Emergency Department.
  • The Job plan includes 10 Programmed Activities.

The Requirements

  • MRCEM 
  • IELTS or OET if you are coming from overseas
  • 2 years Registrar level experience (or above) in A&E
