A West Midlands Trust is searching for a talented Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team, with the opportunity for CESR support.

Role and Responsibilities

You will provide high-quality care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED). Working within a multidisciplinary team, your role will involve managing a broad spectrum of acute and emergency presentations, ensuring timely decision-making and compassionate patient care.

You will work on a rolling rota, which includes a mix of day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekend and public holiday coverage. The rota is designed to balance service provision with time for rest and personal development.

The position offers opportunities to develop a subspecialty interest, such as pre-hospital emergency care, ultrasound, or medical education. You will also be encouraged to participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching sessions for junior doctors and other healthcare staff.

The Hospital

This hospital is renowned for its commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care, working to continually improve care quality and optimise patient pathways. It offers a wide range of services, including a fully equipped Emergency Department that sees over 65,000 patients annually.

The department benefits from state-of-the-art facilities, including resuscitation bays, a dedicated paediatric area and advanced diagnostic equipment. The ED team is comprised of consultants, middle-grade doctors, junior doctors, and advanced nurse practitioners, all working collaboratively to ensure the highest standard of care.

The hospital supports professional development, with access to regular training sessions, simulation exercises, and opportunities to pursue additional qualifications relevant to Emergency Medicine.

The Location

Located in a vibrant and scenic region of the West Midlands, this area offers an ideal blend of urban and rural living. You would be working in one of England’s oldest cities that remains well-connected by road and rail, making it convenient for commuting or exploring nearby attractions.

The area is known for its friendly community, excellent schools, and a range of leisure activities, including hiking, cycling, and water sports. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a bustling town centre, serene countryside, or picturesque coastal views, this location has something for everyone.
