BDI Resourcing are hiring for a Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics and Neonatology to join a well-established team in the north west of England. This hospital has a level 2 Neonatal Unit, can welcoming a supportive environment, and is well experienced in helping doctors through the CESR / Portfolio pathway. They are looking for senior doctors with Registrar level experience who are looking for a new role with excellent CPD opportunities.
Main Duties:
- Assessment, treatment and admission of patients in the Paediatrics department.
- Management of Paediatric emergency cases presenting to the emergency department. Managing Paediatric outpatient clinics.
- Visiting the postnatal wards to review any babies with clinical concerns.
- Stabilising preterm and unwell full-term babies and admitting patients to the level 2 NICU, then managing ongoing care.
- Work closely with other colleagues in acute specialities as well as with community partners.
- Provide support, teaching, and training to more junior doctors and other members of the team.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1:10 out of hours) and take an active senior part in both paediatric and neonatal resuscitation teams.
The Hospital, Department and CPD:
The Paediatrics team are very invested in professional development, one of the main exemplary bits of practice in this regard is their commitment to helping doctors through the CESR / Portfolio pathway. Time and resources are allocated to helping individuals through the process to enable them to enter onto the specialist register in Paediatrics. There is weekly training within the department as well as study leave budgets, and weekly SPA time. Individuals are encouraged to get involved in audits and quality improvement projects. Doctors are encouraged to get involved in formal and informal training of undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, nurses, and AHPs, in a variety of settings, e.g. ad hoc, bedside, formal lectures and tutorials.
The location:
You would be very close to some of the most major cities in the UK, such as Manchester and Liverpool, while also being close to the stunning countryside the area has to offer, providing a great mix of city living and tranquil setting.
Being close to these cities means that opportunity to travel is excellent, being close to major transport hubs for the UK, as well as international airports to travel abroad to visit family and friends.
Being in the North of England would also provide a far lower cost of living to the rest of the UK, including low rent costs.
Requirements:

- Full MRCPCH or equivalent (if UK experienced then just MRCPCH 1 and 2 is accepted, provided GMC is complete)
- At least 4 years of Paediatrics
