The Health Service is seeking a passionate Staff Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the growth and development of maternity and gynaecological services in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert assessment and management of patients following evidence-based best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop maternity and gynaecological services
  • Cover the labour ward on a rotational basis, along with ante-natal and general gynaecology clinics
  • Perform elective and emergency procedures
  • Train and mentor junior medical staff
  • Participate in on-call duties and respond on-site as required
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement and patient safety

Selection Criteria:

  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) or equivalent
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and lead effectively
  • Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management
  • Proven experience in clinical teaching and mentoring
  • Active participation in continuing medical education and professional development
  • Ability to meet the service objectives of the Health Service, including local community engagement
  • Availability for on-call duties with a timely on-site response
