Job Title – Staff Specialist Anaesthetics
Salary Range – Competitive, based on experience
Location – New South Wales, Australia
Duration – Fixed-term 24 months, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Main Duties:
An exciting opportunity exists to join the anaesthetic department as a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist. In this role, you will:
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality anaesthetic services to the surrounding community.
- Administer anaesthesia for various surgical specialties at the Hospital, including pre-assessment clinics, acute pain management, and obstetric epidural services.
- Support other departments as needed.
- Supervise, teach, and train junior anaesthetic staff, doctors, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in clinical quality, audit activities, and hospital committees.
- Maintain continuing professional development through ANZCA CPD portfolio compliance.
- Be available for on-call duties and respond onsite within a reasonable time.

Requirements:
To apply for this position, you will need:
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, or eligibility via an overseas-trained specialist pathway.
- Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent (or being on a documented pathway toward achieving these qualifications).
- A commitment to teamwork, leadership, and providing high-quality patient care.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in medical IT systems.
- A dedication to teaching, education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Availability for on-call duties with the ability to respond within a reasonable time.
- Successful completion of a Working With Children (WWC) Check and an Aged Care Check (required for work in NSW).
