BDI Resourcing are working with a fantastic NHS Trust who are well known for their dedicated work with IMG's!! This post is tailored for overseas anaesthetists who are wishing to pursue a career in intensive care medicine within the UK. It is a 12 month post; the first six months is spent as a Trust Grade in Critical Care. Thereafter, the candidate will progress to spend the remaining 6 months as either a Senior Clinical Fellow in Critical Care or Trust Grade (General Specialties) depending on performance.
The post:
- The first six months is spent as a Trust Grade in Critical Care. Thereafter, depending on performance, the post holder will spend the remaining 6 months as either 1. Senior Clinical Fellow in Critical Care or 2. Trust Grade in General Specialties.
- Critical care is part of the Specialist Support directorate, which incorporates critical care, anaesthesia, theatres, pain and sterile services across NUH. There are 3 distinct adult critical care areas managed by specialist support across the Trust on two campuses.
Duties of post:
- The successful applicant is expected to participate in the General Critical Care Rota (1 in 8 full shift), as well as the day-to-day clinical and managerial running of the critical care units.
Additional support:
- A comprehensive induction programme and educational support to enable transition to working in Critical Care in the NHS is provided.
- There will be an opportunity to pursue their interest in a variety of areas such as simulation, education and governance. There is a well organised active audit and quality improvement programme.
- The departments offer extensive learning resources. There are several regular educational meetings each week including journal clubs, ITU rounds and morbidity meetings.
- Critical Care has links with the Academic Departments of Anaesthesia and Surgery and participation in on-going research and audit programmes will be encouraged.
Requirements:
- Successful post holders will hold full GMC registration and have at 4 years of post-graduate experience within intentive care medicine.
