The post will be taking a share of the on call duties and gaining exposure to a wide range of medical conditions while being fully supported by a full junior and senior team. This will include full and equal access to supervision as well as internal educational and training opportunities and funded study leave.
This busy job provides excellent opportunity for clinical learning and development of skills. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver teaching to a cohort of junior doctors and to participate in quality improvement projects.
Acute Medicine within this specific Hospital is embarking on an exciting journey of transformation and change. There are exciting plans for an ambitious major redevelopment of the EAU service area commencing in the next year to expand and redesign the way we currently deliver ambulatory and short stay care.

There are also co-located 8 cubicles and 6 trolley assessment area for Assessment as well as provision of Ambulatory Emergency Care. We have a team of 10 Acute Medical Consultants working on the unit alongside an excellent large team of motivated and enthusiastic junior doctors, ANPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists and operational managers.

The Clinical Fellows are key members of a dedicated junior team for Acute Medicine and are pivotal to the appropriate assessment and management of acutely unwell adult patients.

A Chest Clinic provides a comprehensive range of out-patient services including new and follow-up consultations, full lung function tests, sleep services, skin prick testing and anti-IgE therapy for appropriate asthmatic patients.
