The Acute SDU has 3 main areas: AMU, Ambulatory Care Unit, and Short Stay Medical Unit. This post sits within the Acute Medicine SDU. The hospital work as part of an ‘acute care hub’ alongside the Emergency Department.
The hospital are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registrar to join the Acute team on a full time basis.
The post holder will be required to support the junior team of the Acute Care Hub. The Acute Care Hub is consisting of the Short Stay ward (SSW), Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (AECU).
This post requires full MRCP and a pass in IELTS/OET to evidence your English language skills.

The Department of Healthcare for Older People at this NHS Trust is staffed with twelve consultant geriatricians, six StR’s, six STs, three FY2s and eight FY1s
This post provides support to the consultants and multidisciplinary team carrying out comprehensive geriatric assessment within the Acute Medical Unit and Emergency Department, as well as support to one of the inpatient wards. Other duties include seeing referrals from non-medical specialities and teaching 4th year medical students. The post will include work at registrar level on the general medical on-call rota, comprising some nights and weekends, depending on the candidate’s speciality skills and experience.
The post would particularly suit someone planning to commence training in Geriatric Medicine, or from an Emergency Medicine or Acute Medicine background who wishes to gain specific skills in Acute Geriatric Medicine.
MRCP and some Geriatrics experience required.
