The Department is well-equipped and has full UKAS accreditation. The laboratory processes 30,000 Surgical specimens and 2,000 non-gynae cytology specimens annually. There were 720 coroner’s autopsies in 2017.
The Consultants subspecialise in three to four areas of surgical pathology, in addition to general biopsy reporting, with a lead role in at least one specialty.
