The Post 

BDI Resourcing are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated international doctor for a Senior Registrar Emergency Medicine post located within a London NHS Trust.

Duties 

You will be contracted to work an average of 48 hours per week with salary enhancement for antisocial hours.
The working pattern is a full shift.
Hours of work are subject to the requirements of the service.

Duties will include:

  • Participation in the day-to-day management and administration of the Emergency Department.
  • Proactive patient management to achieve timely and high quality assessment and care.
  • The assessment, resuscitation, and safe transfer (where necessary) of seriously ill and injured patients, including stabilisation of patients requiring transfer to trauma centres.
  • Care of patients on the observation unit.
  • Referral of patients to in-patient facilities.
  • Involvement in Emergency Medicine multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
  • Participation in teaching and training for junior doctors, including involvement in their educational assessments, and education of other health care professionals.
  • Active involvement in quality improvement and the development of departmental services.
  • Involvement in the 24 hour trauma and cardiac arrest team.
  • Review of x-rays and pathology reports returned to the ED.
  • Provide support and input to the management of rota schedules.
  • Independent assessment of patients in the resuscitation area, taking the lead for trauma and medical resuscitations as and when required.

Post Requirements 

  • MRCEM/MRCP
  • A years' experience in Emergency Medicine
  • A pass in IELTS/OET or the Trust can offer IELTS exemption if you have not previously tried an English language exam.
