The Acute Medical Service has recently undergone a significant service re-design. The acute medical units, on both sites, have developed Ambulatory Assessment Units (AAUs) to facilitate early assessment and treatment of referrals from GPs and the ED departments. The ambulatory units are supported by dedicated nursing staff and have agreed protocols for common medical presentations. There is rapid access to a wide range of diagnostic services such as radiology and endoscopy allowing admission avoidance or early discharge of patients.
You must hold full MRCP and a pass in IELTS/OET to evidence your English language skills.

Acute Medicine within this Hospital is embarking on an exciting journey of transformation and change. There are exciting plans for an ambitious major redevelopment of the EAU service area commencing in the next year to expand and redesign the way we currently deliver ambulatory and short stay care.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated medical Registrar doctors with an interest in Acute Medicine, to work within our dynamic and fast paced Emergency Assessment Unit.
The registrar role is to provide senior leadership and strong, safe clinical decision making, with support and guidance from our team of Consultants. You will work primarily within EAU – which includes our Medical Day Unit, Ambulatory Care, Short Stay and our unique High Observation Unit. You may however be expected to undertake duties within other areas, and there is an expectation to undertake on-call duties (I in 13) as part of the role.
