Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine
As a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine, you will form an important part of a team set up to assess and immediately manage acute medical emergencies. The position will cover a wide variety of medical specialties, you will also be expected to work closely with colleagues in the Emergency Department and Critical Care. Given the diverse nature of the cases you will handle, the post provides an excellent base for doctors looking to progress into any sub-specialty within Medicine.

The Job
Your work will be split between the Acute Medical Unit, the Short Stay Unit and the Ambulatory Care Unit, you’ll also treat Acute medical cases in the Emergency Department. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaising regularly with other specialties within the Trust to provide high quality patient care.
The duties you will be expected to perform are as follows:
- Assess and manage Acute Medical emergencies admitted to the hospital.
- Lead the code blue/rapid response team.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Liaise with the Consultant team to plan patient care.
- Communicate with colleagues in other departments and GPs when required.
- Train junior medical staff.
As well as clinical duties, the position will require:
- Maintain an up-to-date portfolio of training.
- Active involvement in clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
- Participate in continued professional development.
- Hold teaching sessions for medical students.

Acute Medicine Registrar ST3+
BDI Resourcing is welcoming applications for several roles in Acute Medicine at ST3+. The Trust is looking to expand their department and have recently done some fantastic work with several IMGs and are now looking to add to this!
The post:
- Whilst this is more of a registrar post, there will be more senior support available in the department at all times in the form of either a consultant or more senior registrar grade doctor.
- Study leave can usually be arranged, subject to notice, for educational activities relevant to acute medicine. Relevant study-leave includes life-support courses, other general medicine courses, and preparation for exams.
- Funding is available for educational activities such as e-learning, and e-portfolio access.
- As a forward-thinking department, interested in reviewing outcomes and improving quality they encourage involvement in clinical audit.
Duties of post:
- The post holder will be supported and expected to fulfil the CPD requirements of the Royal College of Physicians.
