BDI Resourcing are seeking an international doctor for an SHO Emergency Medicine post within a University Hospital in London.
You will join a friendly, supportive department, with a recently re-configured SHO rota, designed to generate the best possible work – life balance and ensure that training and personal development needs are met.
You will be supported in maintaining your professional and personal development and you will also have a Named Clinical Supervisor.
The post is designed to be a flexible position in order to allow doctors to pursue other interests within the security of a 12 month contract, with all the benefits that entails.
This post requires PLAB or full MRCEM with a pass in IELTS or OET.
You must have two years of experience and hold PLAB.
The clinical duties include all those that are normally expected in any major Emergency Department in the United Kingdom. Duties will include daytime, evening, night and weekend shifts.
- To review and appropriately manage undifferentiated patients presenting to the Emergency Department including Resuscitation, Majors, Minors and Paediatric patients, with senior support as required.
-To complete clinical notes contemporaneously, and to adequately record decision making on the computerized records system, including the x-ray reporting system.
-To react positively to changes in planned workload when unforeseen interruptions occur and to plan tasks and activities accordingly.
-To prioritise own workload demonstrating a methodical and well organised approach.
-To ensure patient confidentiality is adhered to at all times and escalate any barriers leading to delays in patients management or referral.
-To participate in departmental audits - support will be given to projects which may be of interest to the post-holder where these improve working practices.
-To ensure that all Trust standards are maintained to maintain a high quality of care to all who come into contact with the services provided by Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The hospital is a designated Trauma Unit and Acute Stroke Unit and the department is responsible for the reception, resuscitation and hyperacute treatment of all major trauma and stroke patients. The hospital has a helipad within the grounds for both receival of patients and to facilitate transfer to tertiary referral centres.
This post requires PLAB and three years' experience within Emergency Medicine.
