The hospital has one of the leading cancer centres in the world and has an international reputation for the care and treatment it provides.
The duration of each post would be for a minimum of 12 months. The post would be particularly suitable for experienced international oncologists wishing to gain further specialist experience in an international tertiary centre.
The specialty of Clinical Oncology comprises of the management of cancer using both radiotherapy and systemic therapy (chemotherapy, hormone therapy and biological agents). It offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in managing cancer patients and engaging in clinical research and academia.
A multidisciplinary team approach and effective communication is integral to the specialty of oncology. Most of an average week is spent in outpatient clinics, prescribing chemotherapy, planning radiotherapy and inpatient care.
This post requires full FRCR and a pass in IELTS or OET.

Within this Trust the Diagnostic work includes surgical pathology, non-gynaecology cytopathology and covers all major disciplines except gynaecology cytopathology, cardiac pathology and neuropathology. The Histopathology team work in a purpose built modern, light and airy building which has been commended for its design and infrastructure by external assessors. Each consultant has their own office with up to date IT equipment. Plans for digital pathology are being developed to aid flexible working, teaching and research. The working environment is supportive and friendly; there are good relations with both clinical colleagues and academics. The department and subspecialist teams support new consultants to help them adjust into their roles, gain experience and explore their interests. The Trust have a newly opened Biorepository and are involved in the collection of samples for the Genomics England 100,000 Genome Project. The fantastic laboratory is UKAS accredited, fully staffed and BMS cut-up is well established. Private practice and work for HM Coroners are optional extras.
The Trust also has an active Research Department to support research interests.The trust has an ambitious programme of service modernisation and a reputation for providing high quality services. The department has recently consolidated its services onto further sites and now undertakes around 34,000 requests per annum of general histopathology.
