This post was created to accommodate for the increase in the demand of imaging studies and chest biopsies, securing an adequate workload to each of the consultants. Their department provides the best technology for cardiothoracic imaging, with three 1.5 MRI and 3T scanners, including a wide bore, 1.5T cardiac optimized Siemens Aera MR scanner and a 3T VIDA Siemens and two dual energy CT scanners, including a Siemens FORCE scanner and it is fully integrated with PACS.

You will be expected to deliver regular Vascular and non-Vascular IR sessions. In addition, the department is able to offer elective and emergency CT guided intervention lists in a dedicated CT scanner adjacent to the Interventional radiology suites. There is also an opportunity to be involved in IR clinics, and time is allocated for IR case planning and IR ward rounds. Successful applicants would also be expected to contribute to the general diagnostic radiology service as well as partake in audit, teaching, research and MDT meetings.

You will join a friendly, hardworking and supportive department who will provide you with full CESR support.
Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with hospital's partnership with the relevant University.
You will share in the responsibilities for delivering general and specialist training and medical education both at a postgraduate and undergraduate level within the Health Boards and University.
Within the illustrated job plan it is recognised that Consultant Radiologists in the directorate work together as a team co-operating to provide efficient cover for duties that include responding to urgent clinical queries and emergencies, sharing of plain film reporting, supervision and training of radiology trainees and the supervision and teaching of radiographers / sonographers at both locations. You will contribute to the weekly MDT meetings
The post will participate in the MSK radiology Consultant on-call service for MSK radiology. There are separate Consultant on-call rotas which cover body radiology, neuroradiology and interventional radiology rota.
