Applications are invited for an ST3+ Acute Medicine post within a North England NHS Trust with an excellent CQC report.
The post requires you to be responsible for: the acute management of patients admitted to hospital, the care and management of patients with complex bio-psycho-social needs, the multi-disciplinary collaboration needed to meet the needs of patients prior to and following discharge from hospital, and effective communication with patients and their relatives and carers to ensure that they experience excellent care.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team; consultant on-floor support exists throughout the working day. The rest of the team consists of: nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, discharge co-ordinator, pharmacist, receptionists and housekeepers.
Opportunities for experience and input into team education, management and audit are present on the unit.
We are looking for a team player with a flexible approach and support and complement the existing Respiratory Service in a North East England NHS Trust.
The new appointee will take on an active role within the department with the aim to improve the care of patients and education of both medical and nursing staff.
The department is keen to recruit staff who have skills in tuberculosis, sleep medicine, non-invasive ventilation, endobronchial ultrasound, medical thoracoscopy, pleural procedures, pulmonary physiology and asthma.
The appointment is for a total of 10 PAs per week.
