BDI Resourcing currently have spaces for an upcoming interview with a fantastic Trust with a Good CQC rating in the North of England! They have a proactive and modern service with close liaison between the Acute and Community Departments.
The post:
- This is an exciting post within general paediatrics. The successful candidate will undertake duties on the CAU, Paediatric Ward, Neonatal Unit (NNU) and in the Paediatric Outpatient Department, as well as attending delivery suite and the postnatal wards when required.
Duties of the post:
- Ensuring delivery of a high-quality Paediatric service.
- Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of general paediatric patients.
- Becoming acquainted with management protocols for Paediatrics and helping to update them.
- Undertaking ward rounds in conjunction with a Consultant.
- Ensuring children are fit for discharge.
- Attending clinics with a Consultant.
- Supervising the clinical work of junior Paediatric doctors.
- Attending an APLS/NLS course if not already trained.
- Assisting and leading in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
Additional support:
- Attending an Induction Course which includes awareness training of NHS Structure and Local Trust Management.
- Extensive learning and development programme and a fully equipped Education Centre. Within the Education Centre is a widely stocked library and resource centre, lecture theatres, a clinical skills training room, a resuscitation and manual handling training room, meeting rooms, classrooms and IT suites.

Essential:
- GMC registration following completion of MRCPCH (or equivalent).
- Should be confident to commence as a Registrar, there is a requirement to participate in the tier two on-call shift rota.

Role:
- The post is in general paediatrics with an on call work of 1:9 rota.
- The post holder will join the existing team of consultant paediatricians, speciality doctors and speciality trainees working in the Paediatric Directorate
