BDI Resourcing is seeking an international doctor for a Consultant Interventional Radiology post located in the North East of England.
You will join a fantastic department, who friendly, supportive and will provide you with full CESR support to aid you in getting onto the Specialist Register.
The department performs a wide range of vascular and non-vascular interventions, with scope to develop new services within this supportive and collaborative environment.
The location is a major UK city, great shopping, amenities and excellent access to motorways.
Post Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver Clinical, Educational, Managerial Services of the highest professional standard at Consultant Level to the Department
- Work with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality well-led service for patients including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices.
- Deliver Direct Clinical Care to patients, through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making and sharing equally in the workload.
- The Consultant team will provide comprehensive senior clinical cover to the Department.
- Be expected to share equally in the workload of the department
- A special interest in Interventional radiology is expected, but there will be the opportunity to pursue and develop further areas of special interest in line with departmental and Trust strategy
- Be expected to participate in the out of hours Interventional rota on a 1:6 basis. It is possible in the future there maybe networking to decrease the frequency of on call.
- Any changes will be by negotiation and will be reflected in the job plans of the team.
- Have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, ensuring safe handover as appropriate.
- Engage fully with the care of patients outside the department and provide a prompt opinion on request from consultant colleagues in other specialties.
- Engage with medical, nursing, management and all relevant co-workers in the delivery of department objectives: to provide clinical leadership, improve the patient experience; ensure the highest quality clinical care.
