With an increasing delivery rate to 6,000 we have expanded our middle grade tier from 12 to 14 to create a separate full shift Neonatal rota to support our neonatal unit which is now level 2. In general paediatrics, the middle grades work on the general paediatric ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit & support the Paediatric Emergency Department, as well as being allocated outpatient clinics. Leave is not fixed, & there is an opportunity to take study leave.
We are a friendly, cohesive team with regular formal and informal meetings. We have an open-door policy for ad hoc conversations and advice and all consultants have sub-specialty interests
Sub specialty research and training is encouraged and can be explored with more senior members of staff within the Paediatric department
