You will be responsible for the day-to-day care of all patients under the Consultants. The programme of training for each doctor will be flexible depending on your needs and stage of training.
You will also be assigned an educational supervisor to provide you with support.
Appraisals will be carried out at regular intervals and forwarded to the specialty lead.

The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
Multi-disciplinary team work is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues.
Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
As part of a team, the post holders will work with the Consultant Physicians and a team of junior doctors to manage ward in-patients.
The post holder may be called upon to see General Medical referrals on other wards.
The post holder will have various daily responsibilities according to a more detailed timetable but these duties could include the following:
Attending Consultant Ward Rounds
Conducting own ward rounds
The post holder will be expected to take part in Clinical Governance Meetings and be involved in Audit within the Department
The appointee is expected to supervise junior medical staff and have continuing inpatient responsibility in conjunction with the members of junior doctors’ medical team, CMTs, FY2s and FY1s.
The hours will be a maximum of 48 hours per week dependant on the rota pattern.
