The Trust appreciates the importance of educational support so is offering positions on this programme to Medicine Doctors whose long term goal is to gain specialist registration. These roles as a Registrar in Acute medicine whilst being non-training will have high importance placed on education.
As a Specialist in General Acute Medicine, you will be a senior figure in a well-supported team whilst providing the highest clinical standards to patients. You will be required to work in Acute Medicine but also to have good communication with other department in the Hospital both clinically and managerial.
This position would be perfect for those who are looking to take the next step in their career before becoming a Consultant in the NHS. If you have overseas Consultant experience or have been working in the UK for the last couple of years, this would be the position for you!
You will be solely based in Acute Medicine including Same Day Emergency Care, AMU and the Short stay ward but also may be required to cover the General Medicine wards. Other duties for this post will include:

You will form a vital part of the Stroke multi-disciplinary team with your basic hours split between the Acute Stroke and Rehab Unit and the Stroke clinic, you will also be expected to work the General Medicine on-call rota. The post presents a fantastic opportunity for doctors who want to deepen their knowledge of Stroke.
