You will support and guide juniors where needed, work on your professional development to become a consultant and get provided CESR support! If you are in difficult situations there will be a consultant that you can go to for guidance.

The Job
The Trust are seeking a Specialty Doctor to do the following:
- 40 hours a week (10PA contract) in Geriatric/Frailty
- Communicate with other departments for clinical and managerial reasons
- Be actively involved in Audits, research, and clinical governance
- Provide additional support for junior doctors where needed.
- Participate in training programmes for junior doctors
- There are currently 4 doctors going through CESR support, you will also have this opportunity

The Hospital
This hospital has 5 specialist Elderly Wards, with one 20 bedded Acute Stroke Unit. There are five speciality based medical wards, an Acute Medical Unit, a medical High Dependency Unit and separate facilities for Intensive Care and Coronary Care patients.
The department are currently helping 4 doctors complete their CESR in Geriatric Medicine and there is certainly room for more! This is exactly the type of team you will join – driven, supportive and friendly!
You will join an existing team of 7 consultants. There is room for those who have a subspecialty interest and they will help accommodate where possible. The successful applicant will also participate in the outpatient clinic.
With access to a comprehensive library this gives you the maximum chance to keep you knowledge up to date and allows staff to keep abreast of the latest research developments in any specialty.

- Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, MRCPI, USMLE, PLAB, Sri Lankan MD etc.)
- IELTS or OET if you are coming from overseas
- GMC Registration complete or in process
