The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
Multi-disciplinary team work is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues.
Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
As part of a team, the post holders will work with the Consultant Physicians and a team of junior doctors to manage ward in-patients.
The post holder may be called upon to see General Medical referrals on other wards.
The post holder will have various daily responsibilities according to a more detailed timetable but these duties could include the following:
Attending Consultant Ward Rounds
Conducting own ward rounds
The post holder will be expected to take part in Clinical Governance Meetings and be involved in Audit within the Department
The appointee is expected to supervise junior medical staff and have continuing inpatient responsibility in conjunction with the members of junior doctors’ medical team, CMTs, FY2s and FY1s.
The hours will be a maximum of 48 hours per week dependant on the rota pattern.

Each post will be for 12 months with the possibility to progress to a three year contract covering all sub-specialities, depending upon satisfactory completion of appraisals and competency sign off from supervising Consultant.

Ideally, you have decided on Medicine as your preferred career. You will have an active interest in improving the quality care provided to patients within the Trust. You will be capable of managing projects both independently and under supervision and be skilled at team working. Regular supervision meetings with an experienced training Consultant will help you shape your future career.
The clinical work will generally be on the SHO rota, but the post holders who are appointed will be able to work at an appropriate level for their seniority.
The successful applicant will be comfortable assessing and initiating management of cases presenting to the Trust, including an active, preferably leading role in cardiac arrest teams (with supervision). It is expected that you will act as a role model for the medical students and junior doctors will have excellent clinical acumen, good communication skills, initiative and leadership.

The post offers excellent experience in speciality geriatric medicine and unselected medical on calls.
This job would suit a doctor at CT2+ level with MRCP who is looking to gain further experience in acute general medicine and geriatric medicine.
The job will include working as part of our front door ‘frailty team’, sessions in the Rapid Access for Older People Clinic (RACOP) and work on the elderly care wards.
You will develop skills in acute geriatrics, comprehensive geriatric assessment, multidisciplinary team working, advanced care planning and rehabilitation.

BDI Resourcing are looking for an international doctor to join the Gastroenterology Department at a South East England NHS Trust.
The hospital's endoscopy unit carries out diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP, including treatments of bleeding lesions, variceal banding, oesophageal and biliary stenting and biliary stone removal.
Bowel Cancer screening is also performed within the unit.
There are weekly MDTs for hepatobiliary, upper and lower GI cancers and IBD.
