BDI Resourcing are seeking an international doctor for a Consultant Interventional Radiology post within a South East England NHS Trust.

The department has a purpose built Interventional suite comprises of the newly installed Philips Azurion Interventional equipment complete with XpertCT, CO2 and dose aware packages, as well as a four bed recovery unit, dedicated reporting pod and consultation room.

Interventional radiology was awarded Exemplar status in 2015 which was successfully renewed in April 2019.

The department performs a wide range of vascular and non-vascular interventions, with scope to develop new services within this supportive and collaborative environment.

Due to imminent retirements and additional activity there is a requirement for another Interventional Consultant Radiologist to join this friendly and enthusiastic team with a passion for excellence. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver Clinical, Educational, Managerial Services of the highest professional standard at Consultant Level to the department including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices.
  • Deliver Direct Clinical Care to patients, through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making and sharing equally in the workload.
  • The Consultant team will provide comprehensive senior clinical cover to the Department.
  • Be expected to share equally in the workload of the department.
  • A special interest in Interventional radiology is expected, but there will be the opportunity to pursue and develop further areas of special interest in line with departmental and Trust strategy
  • Be expected to participate in the out of hours Interventional rota on a 1:6 basis. It is possible in the future there maybe networking to decrease the frequency of on call.
  • Any changes will be by negotiation and will be reflected in the job plans of the team.
  • Have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, ensuring safe handover as appropriate.
  • Engage fully with the care of patients outside the department and provide a prompt opinion on request from consultant colleagues in other specialties.
  • Engage with medical, nursing, management and all relevant co-workers in the delivery of department objectives: to provide clinical leadership, improve the patient experience; ensure the highest quality clinical care.
  • Actively participate in and support other staff with education, research, audit and clinical governance activities involving a multi-disciplinary workforce across the department.

Post Requirements

You will require full FRCR and a pass in IELTS or OET to evidence your English language skills.
