- It is envisaged that the new appointee will undertake the management of general ENT patients as well as delivering a special interest in adult and children’s otology to complement the current expertise within the ENT department.
- The appointee will participate fully in the clinical activities of the Department, providing general emergency ENT cover 1:6 during the week, each ‘day’ being 24 hours from 8.00am-8.00am, and 1:6 weekends, Friday am to Monday am.
- When on-call he/she will provide full support and advice to the resident and middle grade staff, and supervise/undertake whatever emergency surgery is required.
- He/she will undertake on-call ward rounds on weekends in the course of delivering this on-call support, and be available to advise and support other specialties within the hospital as necessary.
- The appointee will have responsibility for all patients under his/her care, and will guide and help junior medical and non-medical staff in delivering this care.
- He/she will work within the close working relationship that characterizes the Department, and support the philosophy of sub-specialisation whilst providing ‘generalist’ expertise as well.
Requirements:
Full GMC registration via FRCS or equivalent.
