Role and Responsibilities:
? Support and work alongside the Consultant Oncologists and Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialists.
? Support the oncology day unit and the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapies.
? Provide ward rounds and specialist medical advice for the Acute Oncology Service (AOS), working closely with the AOS clinical nurse specialists and under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists
? Participate in oncology outpatient clinics, seeing new and follow-up patients under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists.
? To be involved in the developments of the specialty as part of the Oncology team.
? Substantial time will be given over to help support the clinical trials team with active participation in clinical research within the oncology research portfolio.
? The post holder’s professional progress will be reviewed annually by the supervising Consultant.
? Participate in the teaching and assessment of doctors in training and medical students.
? Maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital
? The post holder will be prepared to undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties as needed due to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
