This is a 400-bed district general hospital, whose children and young people’s services are rated as “Good” by the CQC. Its Paediatric ward includes a purpose-built children’s assessment unit (CAU) and high dependency unit (HDU), and state-of-the-art equipment including a cardiac monitoring system.
Specialists from neighbouring trusts visit in order to conduct clinics in various specialties such as cardiology, neurology, nephrology, endocrinology and oncology.
The hospital provides Level 1 Neonatal services in it’s Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), with two high dependency cots and six special care cots.

This position is based at a medium sized teaching hospital in the Southwest of England. It serves a population of around 50,000 people and has an Emergency Department alongside a wide range of outpatient services. This hospital also boasts excellent education and training facilities.
The Trust provides Level 2 neonatal services, General Paediatric services and Community Paediatrics. However the post holder will not be expected to be involved in Community Paediatrics.
There will be opportunities to participate in outpatient work under supervision. The postholder will be encouraged to pursue areas of interest and in career development, including the provision of educational supervision
