BDI Resourcing is seeking an international doctor for a Specialty Registrar Medical Oncology job located in the East Midlands. You will gain lots of oncology experience in a busy, friendly department and work alongside a team of junior doctors (‘SHO’) covering the Oncology and Haematology inpatients as well as 4 Doctors in Training (ST3+)
This post is not recognised for training, however, it provides excellent clinical experience and there are plentiful educational and training opportunities. It would be suitable for trainees looking to broaden their experience in oncology prior to specialty training in oncology. Clinical work includes outpatients, inpatient care, including chemotherapy.
This post requires full MRCP and a pass in IELTS or OET to evidence your English language skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Oncologist to join a team of Consultants in Clinical and Medical Oncology and receive close support and training to develop in your NHS Oncology career. You will have a balanced job plan with tumour site rotations which will ensure maximum exposure to NHS Oncology practice and contribute towards sign-off for CESR Specialist Registration. The role is excellent for Oncologists with extensive specialty experience however aren’t quite ready to practice as a Consultant in the NHS. You will have a senior NHS rota with your own patient lists, with the supervision of a Consultant to ensure that you’re fully supported in your practice. The Trust hosts a major Oncology Cancer Centre for the region and is part of an NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust collaboration which covers a wide geographical area and treats all common and intermediate frequency cancers including Breast, Lung, GI, HPB, Gynae, CUP and Urology. The centre has a well-established Medical Oncology practice and a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. Moreover, the Trust has recently invested in a research institute that works in partnership with local universities, providing a platform to promote and develop cancer research programmes and involvement. There is also a Chemocare electronic prescribing system in place.
If you are an international Medical Oncology Consultant currently, you will be in a cancer centre with a national reputation for supporting overseas trained Medical Oncologists in their career development in the NHS. There will be a supportive induction period, and a clinical oncology mentor in post to ensure that you feel comfortable and equipped to practice independently.
