Specialty Registrar (ST3+) in Clinical Oncology

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Patient safety, dignity and care are the highest priority and at the centre of all that you do.
  • To provide high quality care to patients, including clinical leadership and supervision of junior medical staff, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are provided to all patients attending the hospital.
  • To be proactive in ensuring that all patients receive rapid assessment, treatment and clinical decision making, whilst ensuring our standard to deliver safe quality and performance are delivered and sustained.
  • To provide teaching and training to undergraduates.
  • To be proactive in the Departments clinical governance agenda, thereby abiding by the clinical and corporate governance policies of the Trust.
  • To participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes.
  • The appointee will work together with Clinical Oncology ST3+ trainees rotating through attachments of 6 months to provide exposure to a multitude of tumour types.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an individual currently gathering competencies for their CESR portfolio and wishing to work towards GMC Specialist Registration via the CESR pathway.
  • Although this is a non-training post, the successful candidate will be assigned a consultant educational supervisor and will be encouraged to maintain an educational portfolio with appropriate assessments to their level of experience and will be provided a study leave allowance for their professional development.
