Consultant & Specialist Level Clinical Oncologists

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone stepping from a Middle Grade/ST6 post to a senior Oncology contract, or for an overseas trained Consultant wishing to undertake a slightly more supervised contract to acclimatise to the UK system. You will be specialising in Urological cancers, including Prostate and Renal cancers, although personal adjustments to subsite specialisation and other clinical/management/research duties will be considered when finalising the job plan. The Trust is extremely diverse and regularly onboard overseas trained doctors, so additional relevant training will be offered to support NHS professional development. It will be a full-time 10PA timetable which is likely to include the following

• Participating in outpatient clinics at the main cancer centre and peripheral units
• Prescribing SACT and clinical admin
• Contributing to Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings
• Planning radiotherapy
• Leading inpatient ward rounds
• Contributing to on-call rota
• Teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate students and trainees
• Recruiting to clinical trials and getting involved with research

Cancer Centre

This is a large University Teaching Hospital which provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of over a million. The Oncology and Haematology Centre has an established multidisciplinary team including over 30 Consultants in Medical and Clinical Oncology, Registrars and Specialty Doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and SHOs. There are site-specific cancer wards and inpatient beds, purpose-built outpatient clinics, a well-staffed day treatment unit, a dedicated acute assessment unit and the radiotherapy department. Requirements

• Full GMC Registration with License to Practice, or invitation to ID check (essential)
• Minimum 12 years post-graduate experience and 6 years specialty specific experience in Oncology (essential)
• FRCR (UK), MRCP (UK), or equivalent postgraduate medical qualification (desirable)

This is fantastic opportunity for a Consultant in Clinical Oncology to specialise in early and advanced breast cancers with adjuvant endocrine treatment, palliative radiotherapy, and CNS tumours. You will be responsible for both radiotherapy and systemic therapy treatments, working alongside an established and expanding Oncology multidisciplinary team. You’ll be based at the largest Hospital site with all the main radiotherapy facilities, working in relevant subsites alongside other Consultant Clinical and Medical Oncologists, as well as Radiographers and Clinical Nurse Specialists. There will also be clinic commitments in a neighbouring Hospital site, where you will also be involved with palliative RT referrals from across the region. • Planning radiotherapy and peer review

Cancer Centre

The Cancer Centre is part of a University Hospital Trust which serves a population of nearly 2 million. There are several hospital sites, and this post is likely to be based at the two main Oncology hospitals. The radiotherapy facilities provided in the two main hospitals include CT simulators and LinAcs. Treatment is VMAT delivered with IGRT and there will be the opportunity to work in SABR and brachytherapy. There are custom-built Oncology outpatient clinics and chemo units and a well-established acute oncology service which is well-staffed by nurses.

You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team, working with consultants, surgeons, physicians, and nurse specialists and contribute towards regular multidisciplinary team meetings. There are trainee registrars rotating in the Trust, so you’ll have lots of opportunities for teaching and training. The Cancer Centre is home to active cancer research teams which actively run clinical trials and collaborate closely with local Medical Schools and Universities.

Cancer Centre

This an exciting time to join a Trust which is expanding its services and striving to help a larger population. You’ll be based in the main Hospital which has a custom-built haematology and oncology ward and cancer out-patient clinics. The centre is well-staffed by consultants and treat all common tumour sites.
