This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest centres as a Consultant in Clinical Oncology, where you can with cutting-edge RT facilities and SACT treatments. The Oncology team is expanding and looking for an experienced Oncologist to join as a long-term employee and specialise in their preferred tumour sites, so this is a great chance for you to pursue any subsite interests. Some of the main pressure points are LGI, UGI and Lung so applicants with an interest in these areas will be welcomed. Relevant Oncology training and supervision will be offered to overseas/IMG doctors stepping into their first NHS Consultant role. We’re also considering applicants for a Specialty Doctor and Specialist post with this centre, so please do apply if you’re hoping for this contract too!
This is a standard 10PA 40 hours p/w rota with the following duties (the job plan can be flexible and will be reviewed regularly with the Clinical Director)
This is one of the UK’s largest bespoke Cancer Centres and delivers cancer care to a population of nearly 3 million; there are over 10,000 new patients a year and over 70,000 return patients. The centre is incredibly well-staffed with over 75 consultants, as well as registrars, specialty doctors, specialists, and junior doctors. This dedicated multi-disciplinary team also consists of clinical nurse specialists, pharmacist and phlebotomists and everyone is committed to working closely together.
The Medical and Clinical Oncology facilities are unrivalled… You’ll find in the centre 6 wards, a day unit for SACT with nearly 50 treatment stations. The Acute Oncology Unit has a large team of advanced nurse practitioners. There is also custom-built out-patient department.
The radiotherapy facilities are up to date with all the new treatment techniques and has close links with the regional centre of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering. The radiotherapy department is home to the following

The Centre has close links with the local University, Cancer Sciences Institute and Cancer Research Institutes which gives unparalleled opportunities for SACT and RT research and clinical trials. There is a purpose-built clinical trials unit which facilitates clinical trials in all solid tumour sites and haematology
