BDI Resourcing are looking for a keen Specialty Doctor in Acute Medicine to help serve a close-knit community in Wales! 


The location:

  • Wales is a country in the South West of the United Kingdom and is popular for its beautiful coastline, mountainous national parks and distinctive Welsh language. The capital of Wales is Cardiff which is a coastal city with an extensive array of bars and restaurants and a city full of history and culture.
  • Cardiff is one of the greenest cities in the UK, with parks spread across the entire city but the most popular being Bute Park located right in the city centre. Also sitting in the centre, is Cardiff castle and Principality Stadium – the National Stadium. Cardiff is also regularly voted one of the top UK shopping destinations as it has over 100 shops to choose from in St. David’s shopping centre and a number of historic shopping arcades.

The Post 

  • The successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Consultants in the care of acute, general medical inpatients with the opportunity to participate in Ambulatory Care as well as develop your procedural skills.

Duties of post: 

  • Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients.
  • Be required to provide a senior level of support to the department.
  • Assess and manage where appropriate patients with a range of conditions within acute medicine.
  • Attend ward rounds both with the consultants. The Specialty Doctor may be responsible for unaccompanied ward rounds.
  • Perform additional duties in exceptional circumstances during emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit. Regular contribution to departmental meetings, journal club and medical grand rounds of the hospital.

  • Full GMC
  • MRCP
